Host Agent and Assets
Host Agent data enriches Assets / CMDB with detailed endpoint inventory. Records are matched to existing assets when possible (typically by MAC address or hostname rules configured for your tenant).
What appears in the CMDB
Section titled “What appears in the CMDB”After you approve an agent, Monozu Cloud receives periodic snapshots containing:
- Hostname and FQDN
- Operating system and version
- CPU, memory, and disk summary
- Network interfaces and MAC addresses
- Installed software list
Fields visible in the asset detail page depend on your tenant version and asset type.
Discovery vs Host Agent
Section titled “Discovery vs Host Agent”| Signal | Source | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| New host on VLAN | Edge discovery | Find devices the network sees |
| OS / software detail | Host Agent | Accurate inventory on managed endpoints |
| Manual record | Administrator | Assets discovery cannot see |
Review workflow
Section titled “Review workflow”- Open Assets / CMDB and sort by Last updated or filter by discovery source when available.
- Open the asset and confirm Site, Zone, and Criticality.
- Resolve duplicates: merge or decommission stale records per your change process.
- Link the asset to incidents, changes, or vulnerabilities as usual.
Data freshness
Section titled “Data freshness”- Inventory refreshes on a schedule and when significant changes occur on the host.
- If an agent is revoked or the host is offline for an extended period, the asset may show stale software data — check Last seen or equivalent fields in the UI.
